You do not need a polling card to vote in any UK election.

All the polling card does is tell you when and where to vote and helpfully list your details as they appear on the electoral register. So, if you've got one, it can make the process a little quicker but that's it. If you haven't, don't worry - if you are on the electoral register, you can still vote.

bah I spent an hour looking for mine this morning!

I only looked at the poll predictions for the first time last night and nearly fell off my chair, Boris SERIOUSLY has such a huge lead? then I remembered the second-place votes which will accrue to Ken but STILL we can't have Boris as mayor, it'll be BLOODY EMBARRASSING for starters, wtf people.

I gather that YouGov & IPSOS/MORI disagree on the stats.

Last I looked the betting markets were giving something like 4:1 odds on a Ken victory :-(

Don't believe any polls published in the Evening Standard is your basic rule of thumb here

I think the requirements of "balanced coverage" (i.e. if you mention one mayoral candidate you have to mention them all just as much) has fettered the Beeb quite a lot during this campaign.

i: set off for usual polling station eager to make cross against haha-annoy-NRQ box
ii: arrive at usual polling station to disocver nothing but a vast building site and bleak pile of earth
iii: curse politicians in bed with corrupt developers crushing the aspirations of the ordinary blogging man

that website is APPALLING though - was infuriated by it yesterday, tried to find my polling station but it told me that my postcode was wrong or wasn't a residential address.

yeah that website's hard to use and slow and it directs me at hackney's, which is equally uninformative -- i did get a response from the text number it suggests (it requested flat number and postcode), and am awaiting response to that

none so far!

It is - this morning it kept breaking in a "sorry, can't serve that page" kind of way.

Am voting after work, Sian 1st & Ken 2nd. If Boris gets in, I shall set my mum's house on fire. I warned her!

I did this and now I'm worrying that Boris will get over 50% outright and the 2nd-place votes won't get to count :/

If Boris gets over 50% of first-preference votes, he will win no matter how non-Boris voters vote, don't worry. Discussed here:

Yeah, but if he'd got over 50% outright, we'd be fucked anyway. I understand your fear, though :¬////////////
