One would think that Apple might have checked that their new, extra smug (but undeniably funny) ads don't crash their own software before putting them up on the web, but apparently not...
Well, no wonder it crashes, if you're running, ooh, a year old revision of the software! On a PC, no less!!
(The sad thing is, there probably are people at Apple who think that's actually a fine way to think. Me? Until recently I was still running 10.3 with QuickTime 6, so I ended up watching the ads on YouTube. Flash might be rubbish, but at least it doesn't come with a £20 price tag.)
oh dear! i decided yesterday to buy a mac instead of a pc (not because of these ads). i was going to do it today but somehow i cannot bring myself to spend that much money with just a click, even though i have it. i'm not sure i can cope with this computer-buying malarkey.
And appropriately enough, on BBC coverage of the Vista launch, the PC expert quoted is one David Mitchell. ""Part of the appetite is 'something new for something new's sake'," said Mr Mitchell" (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6309651.stm) in a disapproving manner worthy of his namesake.
Thing is, the guy in the suit (don't know or care which one is which) is clearly the ..er.. "cooler" of the two. I was never going to buy a mac anyway, but I'm not even going near an ipod after these things.
QuickTime 7.0.2? Windows?
